Reza | Free Crochet Pattern Accessory Set
You can never go wrong with a chunky crochet cowl and hat set on a winter day. I designed the Reza accessory set a few years ago, but the original yarn used in the pattern has since been discontinued. It took a while to find a suitable alternative, but when I did, I was happy to find that Univeral Yarn Deluxe Bulky Superwash was the perfect fit.
The Reza set is a textured accessory pair that goes well with your casual outfits. It is the perfect addition to your everyday wardrobe offering great functionality. Both pieces are constructed from the bottom up and use beginner friendly stitches making it the perfect project for all level crocheters.
UY Deluxe Bulky Superwash yarn is extremely rich in color and the stitch definition is amazing. I chose to keep the set a solid color to show off the richness of the color palette. With Superwash yarn, you can wash and dry, but for me, since pure wool is involved, I would hand wash and lay flat to dry for longevity. Accidents do sometimes happen in the machine. One wrong temperature, and there goes your precious handiwork!
The pattern is easily adjustable, but if you choose to work with an alternative yarn, be sure to swatch for the closest match possible.

Pattern Notes
General
The pattern is written in standard US terms.
The Reza Beanie is designed to fit an adult woman head up to 23” / 57.5 cm in circumference.
Read the pattern carefully before beginning.
Tension and yarn choice may yield different results.
Construction
The smaller hook is used for the Band and the larger hook is used for the Body.
The Reza Beanie is made from the bottom up with joined turned rows. First, the ribbing band is crocheted lengthwise, then joined together on the shorter edge, and then the body is crocheted around the horizontal opening of the band.
When crocheting the band, single crochet stitches are worked through the back loops except for the first and last stitch.
Beginning chains do not count as a stitch.
Each [dc 1, sc 1] counts as one cluster.
Customization/Modification
To crochet a larger/smaller beanie, add more/less rows when making the band ribbing ending on an even number row and then follow instructions for Body.
To shorten or lengthen the beanie, crochet less/more rounds before decreasing.
More/less yardage may be required.
