Construction

Crocheted in the round from the top down seamlessly.
Beginning chains do not count as a stitch.
The smaller hook is used for the brim section only.

For a slouchier hat, crochet more non-increase rounds before adding brim.

Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 2, dc 8 in MC, join with sl st to first dc, turn. (8 sc)

Rnd 2(WS): Ch 2, 2 dc in each dc, join, turn. (16)

Rnd 3: Ch 2, [dc in next st, 2 dc in next st] eight times, join, turn. (24)

Rnd 4: Ch 2, [dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st] eight times, join, turn. (32)

Rnd 5: Ch 2, [dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st] eight times, join, turn. (40)

Rep Rnds 2 and 3 once more.

Last Rnd: Ch 1, rev sc in each st around, join to first rev sc with sl st.

Fasten off.
